The fee study does not cover wine tasting samples.
Do you need any qualifications?
There are no entry requirements.
You don’t need to have the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines to study this course, but you may prefer to have that as additional background learning. The choice is yours.
You must be 18 or over to take part in the wine tasting; but if you are underage that does not stop you taking part in the theory sessions and sitting the examination. Our classes are delivered in English.
How do you pass?
You would sit an hour’s closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you need to achieve 55% or more.
The WSET team marks the exam papers and One Foot in the Grapes will let you know if you have been successful. If you pass, you’ll receive a WSET certificate and also a lapel pin.
Ofqual regulate this qualification.
We will agree the date of the online exam at the time of registration, or during the course, at a time to suit you.
A paper exam is an option, but only in a Liverpool venue.
You’ll learn to taste and describe wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine®(SAT).
To fully enjoy and understand the modules, One Foot in the Grapes advises that you should try at least 20 wines in the online course.
You will buy these for the online course and we offer guidance.
As an option this samples provider has the approval of the WSET.
