- Describe and compare the styles of wines produced from internationally and regionally important grape varieties
- Interpret wine labels from the main wine producing regions of the world
- Give basic guidance on appropriate selection and service
- Understand the principles of wine tasting and evaluation

As this is a Zoom course in real time, you’ll be able to ask questions and interact with fellow students; and hopefully have fun as you immerse yourself in the world of wine.
Sessions will be recorded should life occasionally get in the way.

What will happen?
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines Virtual course, via Zoom takes place over eight sessions, between two and 2.5 hours each.
You’ll receive a study pack in advance of the course. This includes the book Wines: Looking Behind the Label, a work book and the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT).
We recommend you familiarise yourself with the material.

Starts Monday evening Monday Sept 9 2024 – x 8 Mondays to October 28 (eight weeks) with an online exam wb Nov 11 (to be arranged).
How much does it cost?
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines – Online Zoom course with an online exam is £347, which doesn’t include wines.
Do you need any qualifications?
There are no entry requirements.
You must be 18 or over to take part in the wine tasting. Our classes are delivered in English.
How do you pass?
You sit an hour’s exam of 50 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you need to achieve 55% or more.
The WSET marks the exams and One Foot in the Grapes will tell you if you have been successful. If you pass, you’ll receive a WSET certificate and a lapel pin.
Ofqual regulate this qualification.

Tasting wine
You’ll learn to taste and describe wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine®(SAT). One Foot in the Grapes advises that you should try at least 20 wines in the online course.
You will buy these and we offer guidance.
